Driving Cameroon’s Agro-Industrial Transformation

Jacques Etoundi Mbezele, as the visionary CEO of GEAIFEC S.A., is the guiding force behind one of Cameroon’s most ambitious socio-economic programs. Since the company’s founding in 2011, Mr. Mbezele has dedicated his leadership to executing a comprehensive national transformation strategy across the agro-industrial, sustainable energy, fisheries, and forestry sectors. He established GEAIFEC S.A as a key partner to the Government of Cameroon, specifically targeting the reduction of food insecurity, unemployment, and endemic poverty throughout the nation. His core philosophy is rooted in securing national food sovereignty and creating enduring wealth for the Etoundi families and the wider Cameroonian population. This commitment is evidenced by GEAIFEC S.A.'s massive scale, involving the management of over 1.38 million hectares of land across all ten regions of the country and a targeted program investment of €10 billion. This capital is strategically mobilized to build fully integrated value chains, ensuring long-term sustainability and high returns for both the country and its partners. The Strategic Vision of GEAIFEC S.A.'s Leadership Under the strategic direction of Jacques Etoundi Mbezele, the company actively tackles critical national challenges through its multi-faceted, seven-step integrated strategy. This includes the establishment of large-scale industrial farms for flagship crops—like the 250,000 hectares of plantain bananas and 50,000 hectares of oil palm—alongside crucial social infrastructure, such as housing, schools, and hospitals, which promote the urbanization of rural areas. Mr. Mbezele champions a powerful model of vertical integration, ensuring that raw commodities like corn, plantain, and oil palm are processed into high-value products—from concentrated juices and fish flour to cocoa derivatives—for both domestic markets and lucrative international exports, including the CEMAC sub-region. Furthermore, CEO Jacques Etoundi Mbezele focuses heavily on sustainability and holistic development. He spearheads the integration of renewable energy units (Biogas, Solar, Hydro) directly into industrial operations, simultaneously fueling economic growth and drastically reducing reliance on external power sources. Through this integrated vision, he is securing a legacy of industrial strength, robust job creation (with flagship projects alone projected to create tens of thousands of jobs), and long-term economic independence for Cameroon. His leadership ensures GEAIFEC S.A remains committed to achieving national sovereignty in food production and industrial capacity.
