Since its establishment in 2011, GEAIFEC S.A. has committed to its vast Agropastoral, Renewable Energy, Halieutic, and Industrial Transformation Program, which is underpinned by a €10 billion investment across the ten regions of the country. This ambitious effort targets both economic returns and profound social impact.
Flagship Agro-Industrial Programs
At the core of the GEAIFEC S.A. Programs and Initiatives is the large-scale industrial farming of strategic national crops. This ensures a stable domestic food supply and raw materials for high-value exports:
Corn Production: A critical food staple, corn cultivation is managed on massive industrial farms, contributing significantly to national food security. This program alone employs nearly 3,000 workers.
Cassava Transformation: Targeting over 5,700 workers, the cassava program secures a foundational starchy root supply, with dedicated facilities for processing cassava into flour and other derivatives.
Oil Palm Development: With an employment impact of over 10,000 hp, the oil palm program is essential for edible oil production and vertical integration, reducing reliance on costly imports.
Export-Oriented Crops: Large-scale farms for cocoa and plantain bananas (with 250,000 hectares planned for plantain) ensure raw materials are processed into high-demand international goods like cocoa powder and concentrated fruit juices.
Industrial Processing and Value Addition
A distinctive feature of the GEAIFEC S.A. Programs and Initiatives is the emphasis on Value-Added Processing. The company avoids exporting raw commodities by establishing numerous industrial complexes for transformation. These facilities handle the production of edible oils, fish sausage and flour (from the halieutic program), double and triple tomato concentrate, cocoa derivatives, and various animal products, ensuring vertical integration from farm to finished product.
The Renewable Energy Program
Sustainability is key to the long-term success of the GEAIFEC S.A. Programs and Initiatives. The company integrates renewable energy production—specifically Biogas, Solar, and Hydroelectric units—directly into its agro-industrial sites. This strategy provides complete energy autonomy for operations, reduces the carbon footprint, and extends clean power access to surrounding rural communities, supporting the mission of rural urbanization.
